From royalty to pop royalty
The London Gay Men’s Chorus began in , when nine friends sang carols at Angel Tube Station to raise money for the Terrence Higgins Trust. That small act of solidarity during the AIDS crisis grew into Europe’s largest LGBTQ+ choir, now a registered Charitable Incorporated Organisation with over singing and non-singing members and thousands of alumni and friends worldwide. London Gay Men's Chorus is a gay choir that was founded in by a group of nine gay men. The group now has around singing members at any one time and over members in total. As a registered charity, the Chorus is funded by members, donations, legacies, grants, and income from performances. This support enables us to deliver more than 80 performances each year — from major London venues such as the Southbank Centre, Cadogan Hall, and the Royal Albert Hall to community Prides, hospices and schools.
