The shock in people's faces that I'm a nerd is amusing. Why does being a nerd/geek mean you can't be social? I'm very extrovert. I've ranted about this and my bf thinks it's adorable that I'm nerdy and I go out of my way to tell people my hobbies. He loves I'm an undercover nerd. Says my eyes glow when I talk about something I'm excited about. About Gay
The term “Gay Nerds,” especially when referencing the Canadian TV series of the same name, holds multiple layers of meaning. At its most straightforward, it’s a descriptor combining two distinct, often stereotyped identities: homosexuality and nerdiness. However, the show, and the broader cultural understanding of the phrase, goes far beyond a simple label. It explores identity. It was born out of a strong need to feel a sense of community and the desire to have a voice out there that was uniquely ours. Back then, it was rough for us to carve out a niche for us in both mainstream gay culture and nerd culture.
