To go along with that I've decided to make this post to outline some LGBT+ themes in the cultures and mythologies that Smite currently has. This guide has not yet been updated for the current season. Why Smite's Solo Lane Has Become a Battlefield of Damage
If you don't know Smite, it's a MOBA about mythological gods. Recently they announced a new playable god, Baron Samedi from voodoo. In the teaser trailer video, Baron Samedi is revealed to be bisexual. This is not something added by Smite authors: Baron Samedi is a bisexual loa (voodoo deity). There are already some reasons for Smite to be controversial and cause seizures to some intolerant conservative/Tea Party supporter: Mercury punching children Aphrodite kissing children Aphrodite kissing female gods (So Aphrodite kissing Scylla is double trouble) what else?. . Will it be too controversial if Smite added gay gods?
What Gods/Characters in Smite are, according to Mythology, LGBT+? I'm curious to see! I recently did more research, and as it turns out, Gilgamesh and Enkidu's relationship was described as similar to marriage, implying a queer relationship. Is there any other gods or characters that are similar in their mythology that we don't know?. .
