(Spoilers all) Why was Renly changed in the TV series?
In the show, Renly was gay and in a relationship with Loras Tyrell. This never happened in the books. Moreover, in the show, this turned out to be fairly important to the plot, when Loras was arrested in season 5 for being gay. Why was this changed?. In the TV series Loras and Renly are very explicitly gay and it affect the course of the story a lot. I started reading the books after the series and now I think this was never in the books. Game of Thrones is back.
