I don't like the way the show handled William.
I think William becoming gay was actually a clever cover up for some really poorly aged jokes. My theory is that William and mark threw around some pretty homophobic comments in the early issues because it was like and that was pretty normal at the time, but as the years when on Kirkman realized how bad that was in retrospect so he made William come out as gay, which recontextuaslizes all. Going through Robert Kirkman, Ryan Ottley and Cory Walker's original Invincible series can, almost two decades later, be awkward at times. A lot of the language characters use is very much of its time, with teenagers talking in ways that can come off as homophobic.

QUESTION So I'm reading through the first compendium currently "Watched the show first now I'm reading the comics" I find it weird how some of the male characters are female in the show and some people are a different race now. Also William isn't gay now so that's odd. Just seems kind of strange. .
