"The Legend of Korra," which was recently released on Netflix, ends with a romantic moment between its female leads, a moment that changed LGBTQ+ representation in cartoons forever. Korra is the new avatar who was born after the death of her predecessor Aang , thus continuing the Avatar cycle and becoming the newest Avatar of Water, being born in the Southern Water Tribe. As a child, Korra and her parents were visited by members of the Order of the White Lotus who wanted to confirm that she was indeed the new Avatar who had been reincarnated after Aang died, and they were impressed by her abilities to master three of the four elements at such a young age.
