However, to receive this gift, we must reject sin, including homosexual behavior—that is, acts intended to arouse or stimulate a sexual response regarding a person of the same sex.

But a churchman using the term “LGBTQ Catholic” or any member of the Catholic Church seems to me a different matter. In a time when identity and sexuality are at the center of cultural, social, and even political debate, the Catholic Church is called to respond—not with ambiguity or rejection, but with clarity full of compassion.
