Male homosexual preference (MHP), sexual attraction to male partners even if female partners are available, is an evolutionary enigma because, in humans, preference for male-male relationships is partially heritable [1, 2], imposes a fertility cost (lower offspring number) [3 – 5] and is relatively common in some societies (2%–6% in Western. These are, technically, only a particular kind of pronoun: third person personal pronouns. When referring to either of the two major biological forms of individuals, sex tends to be the preferred term, especially in medical, technical, and academic contexts.
Why is the word "preference" so bad when in reference to ones
A specific set of desires people have in romantic, emotional and/or sexual partners. It is important to distinguish that sexual orientation is not a preference, but people of all sexual orientations can have preferences (physical, economic, etc.) for the people they are involved with. Language shapes how we understand the world, and ourselves. Using inclusive and accurate language helps create safer, more respectful spaces.
