Asexual | Often called “ace” for short, asexual refers to a complete or partial lack of sexual attraction or lack of interest in sexual activity with others. Asexuality exists on a spectrum, and asexual people may experience no, little, or conditional sexual attraction. The LGBTQ Resource Center recognizes and affirms the vast diversity of definitions, identities, experiences, and terms expanding beyond this glossary. The terms below are always evolving, changing, and often mean different things to different people.

The asexual spectrum (abbreviated as acespec, ace spec, or ace-spec)[1] refers to sexual orientations that are asexual or are closely related to asexuality. Identities under the asexual umbrella are closely connected as part of a broad community.[1][2][3] The identities below are listed alphabetically, following asexual itself. Asexual refers to people who do not experience sexual attraction. Below is an introductory list of terms and definitions. Ally : a person who supports and respects cultural and identity diversity, acts accordingly to challenge harmful remarks and behaviors, and is willing to explore and understand these forms of bias within themselves. Ally | A term used to describe someone who is actively supportive of LGBTQ+ people. It encompasses straight and cisgender allies, as well as those within the LGBTQ+ community who support each other (e.g., a lesbian who is an ally to the bisexual community). An abroromantic person experiences their romantic attraction as shifting among romantic orientations, for instance, homoromantic, heteroromantic and biromantic.
