Is The Blackfish gay?
Yea blackfish could be too, but then I think it would be too many gay-manly-man-fighters stereotype in POVs lol (assuming that Blackfish is a POV in Winds). For me Blackfish just feels a bit asexual, a bit like ser Barristan (tho he had a thing for Ashara back in the days). Could simply be stubbornness. There was no real dynastic reason for Brynden to wed - big brother Hoster inherited Riverrun and had had three healthy heirs by the time Brynden was in his mid to late 20s, so he was dynastically extraneous at best. Brynden joked that given that the Tully sigil is a trout, it would be more fitting to say that he was the "black fish" of the Tully school. The nickname stuck, and Ser Brynden became popularly known as "The Blackfish" ever since. Brynden is a respected knight and formidable battle commander, who first distinguished himself in the War of the Ninepenny Kings , nearly forty years before the War of the Five Kings. Brynden is from House Tully, one of the higher noble Houses of the realm, and gay characters in Westeros born into wealth and nobility tend to have plenty of opportunities to explore their sexuality and indulge in their preferred activities. .

Renly's political pairing with Margarery Tyrell is an excellent example of this kind of marriage. The Blackfish seems more honest and principled than Renly was, and may have rather been disowned than pretend to a marriage he had no intention of consummating or honoring. My money's on gay, principled-celibacy for Brynden Tully. .

I don't think Brynden Tully is homosexual or asexual, I just think he doesn't want to marry. There's plenty of examples of men remaining bachelors their whole life, and some even voluntarily, and the same could be said for the Blackfish. Some people are in love with their job, or their passion, and perhaps Brynden just loves his sword. .
