I visited Gaya Street Sunday Market in Kota Kinabalu city center in the middle of January Overall the place is clean and not too crowded due to Covid restriction. You can walk for about meters along the market. To enter you must scan body temperature and most already complete 2 dose of vaccine. Will come back for sure. Gaya Street Market is loaded, loud and sultry, but still the best place to be at while in KK during a weekend. What can be a better way to start a Sunday morning than shopping in a market where you can buy almost anything and everything?

Gaya Street Market – The All-in-One Market The Gaya Street market is a place to get everything you can imagine. We heard about the market from one of our drivers, who recommended that we check it out since it was around the corner from our hotel.
