Recent Observations at a YMCA
TLDR; I visited a YMCA which I found out has a major reputation for older guys cruising/being creepy. Had a great open shower and nice renovated facilities, but the gross behavior pretty much ruined the experience. Please help us keep these listings current and correct. I recently got a gym membership for the first time, and I've been shocked with what I've found while spending time in the locker room and the showers. Granted, I didn't do the athletic thing in either high school or college, so this is my first experience (I'm 24). I'm hyper-aware of the stereotype of the gay guy eyeing other dudes in the gym, so I make it a point to keep my eyes to myself. .
Experiences in the locker room/gym showers
Men, teens & boys showered and dressed together. Swim lessons at the Y, Fathers & Sons at Indian Guides & Boy Scouts, pool showers, summer camps, golf locker rooms, gym class, college. I don't think any of us gave it any second thought about sharing a locker room, undressing showering, shaving, getting cleaned up, and dressing; it all seemed. .
