Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Studies (LGBTS) at Yale promotes innovative interdisciplinary scholarship and teaching on the historical and contemporary experience of lesbians, gay men, bisexuals, and transgender people. Est. The Yale LGBTQ Center is a department under the Office of the Secretary and Vice President of University Life and supports individuals, groups, and organizations across the entire university. The Yale LGBTQ Center houses the Stonewall Library and PowerOn Lab, serves as a gathering and study space, and supports the personal, interpersonal, academic, professional, and spiritual well. Eligibility: Applicants must be enrolled doctoral candidates who have completed coursework, qualifying exams, and submitted their dissertation prospectus i. Many Yale departments welcome students interested in LGBTS and queer theory, with the greatest concentrations at present in American Studies, History, and African American Studies. LGBTS is not a degree-granting program and plays no role in graduate admissions. The Yale LGBTQ Center houses the Stonewall Library and PowerOn Lab, serves as a gathering and study space, and supports the personal, interpersonal, academic, professional, and spiritual well-being for undergraduate, graduate and professional students, employees and alumni of Yale. Yale LGBT Studies Research Fellowship The application for the Fellowship is closed. The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Studies Fellowship at Yale University is offered annually, and is designed to provide access to Yale resources in LGBT Studies for scholars who live outside the greater New Haven area. Yale has played a leading role in the development of LGBT and queer studies for more than thirty years. Its phenomenal erudition also earned him an American Book Award and helped establish the scholarly rigor and compelling significance of gay studies.
