This fund was established by the W.W. and Eloise D. Gay Foundation in to support research and education in gene therapy. William W. Gay was born on October 15, in West Palm Beach, FL. He earned a bachelor’s degree in education in from UF. In , William founded W.W. Gay Mechanical Contractor, which provides a wide variety of commercial, industrial and engineering contracting. A beloved member of the community, Bill was born in Tampa, Florida, and had made Eustis his home since , relocating from Fort Lauderdale. He brought joy to many as Uncle Sam during the George Fest parades and was affectionately known as "Bud Man" at various chamber events.

Since launching our reducing inequality focus area in , the Foundation has prioritized research that examines ways to reduce inequalities by race, ethnicity, economic standing, language minority status, or immigrant origin. In response to an unprecedented increase in the introduction of anti-LGBTQ+ legislation over the past two years, we recently expanded our research interests for.
