She Would Never Know spends almost all of its run hammering home the idea that Hyun-seung is the ultimate dreamboat. He certainly comes with the physical trappings of an exemplary drama hero. He’s conspicuously wealthy, rather tall, and wears a lot of luxurious knitwear. Hyun-seung also begins the show as the romantic pursuer, which in a drama that has the clear end goal of a happy main. Dramas excel at few things more than the visually appealing, harmlessly fluffy, and easily palatable romance. She knew her husband was gay and accepted it well before he could accept himself. She selflessly offered herself as a safe haven while he was finding himself. And when he finally accepted who he was she graciously let him go. That kind of love is amazing. Our story leans restrained and slice-of-life in execution, so some viewers might find it too small of a story, but I love it.
