It’s true—there are gay people in San Francisco. I moved here in with the plan to change my career from corporate America to the nonprofit sector. I’ve worked for AIDS/Breast Cancer Emergency Funds, UCSF, as the president of a foundation, and now Executive Director of Maitri Compassionate Care. However, the practice despite being decried by a section of society for promoting adultery has helped several interfaith, inter-caste and homosexual couples to legally sanctify their union. The Maitri Mural – Maitri
As the city and the LGBTQ community commemorate four decades since the first reported cases of what became known as HIV/AIDS, Maitri Compassionate Care in San Francisco's Duboce Triangle neighborhood is set to become the home of a new mural. Maitri Healthcare is a group of female health care practitioners united in to create a comprehensive, compassionate obstetrics and gynecology practice for patients of all ages. We seek to know our patients well, and to help them achieve their personal health goals, whether this is a healthy baby, a strong personal discipline to age with grace and strength, or successful healing from surgical treatment of a gynecological problem.
