NYC’s foremost lesbian and femme party, GUSH, returns with a stellar lineup to raise vital funds for Releasing Aging People in Prison (RAPP). GUSH's Valentine's Day special lands at Good Room this Thursday with a special live performance and DJ sets from luminaries DJ Shannon and keiyaA. GUSH has gotten some attention for its door policy. Otherwise a monthly held at the Brooklyn venue H0L0, GUSH sometimes partners with other like-minded organizations, institutions, or brands to throw editions of their lesbian and femme-centered parties, intended for queer and trans people of color.

GUSH has gotten some attention for its door policy. The Brooklyn-based monthly party has a donation-based cover, but suggests $10 for anyone who identifies as lesbian, female, trans, nonbinary, gender non-conforming, intersex, or asexual, $15 for cis gay men, and $75 for cis straight men. In a frothy sea of parties that cater to every interest, taste and demographic available, there's still somehow a void of nightlife spaces designated for lesbians, femmes and non-binary folks. Major lesbian nights and bars have shut down in cities across the country including Boston , San Francisco and Los Angeles in recent years, and even New York comes up short on events that are representative of the whole female queer community and not just its white portions.
