Bard College at Simon’s Rock announces the Bard Queer
The college also provides a $20, annual Queer Leadership scholarship to qualifying students. BQLP is envisioned to expand over the next few years into a complete college on the campus of Bard College at Simon’s Rock, together with Bard College at Simon’s Rock: The Early College, and Bard Academy. A club to promote community and awareness surrounding gay, lesbian, bi-sexual and transgender issues. Sponsoring and organizing social, educational, entertainment and activist functions for the queer and straight community at Bard.
What's it like to be a student at Bard?
As of December , the Bard College at Simon’s Rock campus was rated out of 5 stars on Campus Pride Index, the national listing of LGBTQ-Friendly Colleges & Universities. Additionally, as the press release notes, the school is a part of the Consortium of Higher Education LGBT Resource Professionals. The atmosphere seems really cool, not to mention the awesome professors and the student body seems like its made up of diverse, intellegent people. Can anyone offer more insight into life at Bard.

I’m a parent, too, so I can’t speak to what it’s like to be a student at Bard. But I know six students at Bard at various grade levels (none of whom are gay, but that is neither here nor there) who love the place with a passion. All are really great, friendly, happy kids.
