Nearly two decades involvement in the horse industry, volunteer with therapeutic riding centers, work experience at Dover Saddlery, work experience in Ireland for Lady Georgina Forbes at Castle Forbes Stud, show manager for Carl and Rush Weeden of Brookwood Farm. Continuing her riding career, she has worked with countless trainers including, but not limited to, Lynn Symansky, Sharon White, Page Cade, Allison Spivey, Kama Godek, and Jimmy Wofford. Allison Smith and her wife Olivia founded Colby's Crew Rescue after falling in love with their rescue horse, Colby. The avid horse rider bought Colby from an auction which saved him from being sent away to be slaughtered. He'd been given up by previous owners for his sporadic behavior and distrust of humans. Before he was saved, he was abused, neglected, and was terrified of humans and of more danger headed his way.
