My stance probably comes from a mix of queer studies and being a gay man, and from the fact that I didn’t start reading x-men comics until after iceman officially came out. In the recently released Marauders Annual 1 Marvel Comics snuck in an incredibly sweet moment showing openly gay X-Man Bobby Drake, otherwise known as Iceman , attending prom with his current boyfriend Christian Frost, brother of Emma Frost. This powerful opportunity for Bobby, part of his continued journey into self-love and acceptance, happens with the help of another queer Marvel mutant, Somnus , who is able to enter and control dreams. Hopefully this marks a true change in Bobby's self-acceptance of his gay identity and Christian's recovery from his father's abuse.
