How to play a queer DnD character (respectfully)
Dwarves are the closest thing to Christians as you get in dnd. A huge thing in their culture is progeny, so same sex marriages are probably looked down on and harassed. Humans: DMs call. As for sexual stereotypes, the pictures include two dwarves who are presumably gay or bi (they have tattoos of each other’s beards on their arms, as we all know gay men do). I always assumed I was in a small minority as a gay DnD player but no, after years of engaging with the community I've come to the conclusion that there's a good chance most of the people who read this are LGBT+. I've been wondering what might be the reason for that overlap, I personally played DnD as a kid long before I knew I was gay so I'm curious what other people think the reason might be. .
